Pregnancy

I'm sure that you have all heard how pregnancy is the best time of your life and how being pregnant is such a gift... Let's bust that myth right now. Being pregnant is the worst thing ever! If there was another way to get my son I would have gone through hell and high water to do it. They tell you morning sickness usually goes away after 3 months - the first trimester. What they don't tell you is it can last all day every day for your whole pregnancy. Mine lasted 7 months! At one point I had to stay in bed for 24 hours because being vertical made me sick.

Pants also made me sick. I couldn't have anything on my stomach for 7 months. I wore a lot of sun dresses.
After the sickness subsided I had problems with my sciatic nerve and SI joints. Don't know where your SI joints are? You'll find out when you're pregnant! For a week I couldn't bend over though I also couldn't do housework. I also had moments of being lightheaded and also passing out. It's not good when you work at a doctor's office and have to slide down the wall to keep from falling on your face. People start to wonder what you've got.  Then in the last two months when you get winded taking two steps and you can't sleep, ever, there is the joy of your stretching skin. Now, I have to say I am lucky that I didn't get stretch marks, however, it felt like my muscles and skin were tearing on the top of my baby bump. It was almost as painful as child birth. (To be discussed later.)

So, to all of you who love being pregnant and had wonderful pregnancies, congrats... the rest of us don't want to hear about how great it was for you while we're trying not to puke! If you are having a terrible pregnancy don't feel guilty about it. It doesn't mean that you don't love your baby or that you won't be a good mom. It just means that you don't love being pregnant!!!
